This project aligns with one of the APEC Putrajaya 2040 Visions, which emphasizes the
importance of strong, balanced, safe, sustainable, and inclusive growth. It is also in line with the Aotearoa Plan of Action, in which economies will adopt and strengthen regulatory approaches, sound public sector governance, and take other measures that support economic inclusion, improved health, well-being, and resilience for all.
Conducting the IPC implementation workshop on managing Type 2 DM is one way to intensify inclusive human resource development and economic cooperation, equipping communities with the skills and knowledge needed for the future.
The project aligns with the objectives of the Health Working Group, which aims to
strengthen health systems to improve accessibility, sustainability, and the quality of healthcare.
The project will also support a healthy population throughout their life course, including the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, as well as improved maternal, newborn, and child health. This workshop will bring together stakeholders concerned with the burden of DM Type 2.
The parties involved include the IDF, economy representatives in charge of policies
and efforts to control non-communicable diseases, especially DM Type 2, practitioners and professionals, and academics, as mandated by the HWG to work in partnership to address the disease.
